WELCOME

I am Cary Renault, founder of ADA Technology Corporation.

Brain surgery in my childhood has resulted in 37 years of practical experience living and working with a multi-disabled population. I know first-hand how many barriers to Internet and technology access exist for those who deal with disabilities on a daily basis.

I became a champion for the disabled - one who speaks from experience and an advocate for the elderly . Too often people who are neither disabled nor elderly with health problems are totally unaware of the difficulties faced by those who must deal with visual, hearing, physical and mental complications on a daily basis. I established Awareness, Sensitivity and Knowledge of the Americans with Disability Act, (A.S.K. the A.D.A.) to address this issue.

Working with my partners and others in the community led me to the realization that there are significant non-compliance issues with Information Technology (IT) accessibility. Personally, I have had difficulty using computers at public places; I have also encountered serious problems navigating major web sites and getting information from them because these sites are not accessible for people with visual and other disabilities. If I encountered these non-compliance issues, then the rest of my brethren in the disabled community did too. Working to improve civic access led to the creation of A.D.A. Technology Corporation, which has increasingly attracted attention and support from the community.

Our website, ADAtech.org, is a mutual effort by specialists to encourage community to make the web more accessible as well as to provide up-to-date information on IT accessibility and web accessible and supportive products. We want to encourage others to replicate our efforts in their community, across the nation and around the world.
